A team of students known as WOSP (West Oxfordshire Student Panel) from Abingdon & Witney College, has won a competitive pitch to design the 2017 West Oxfordshire Business of the Year trophy.
Studying for UAL Level 2 Diploma Art & Design, Isabel Cooper (16), Lily Foster (18) and Dawn Booker (19) won the WOBA judges over in a head-to-head battle at the Witney campus against five fellow student teams.
Bill Smith, Finance Director of STL Communications, sponsor of the West Oxfordshire Business of the Year Award, said:
“The scope and creativity of designs put forward this year were truly outstanding and all students demonstrated signs of being commercially aware in terms of their presentation skills and interpretation of the brief. I’d like to congratulate Team WOSP who went that extra mile which was reflected in their winning design.”
The trophy will be made by West Oxfordshire charity, Synolos, who have invited the students to spend work experience time in their studio throughout the production process.
David Cameron launched WOBA 2017 on 16 September, which marked one of his final public appearances as Witney MP.
West Oxfordshire businesses still have time to download an entry form from woba.org.uk and submit it ahead of the midnight deadline, 5 December 2017.
Finalists will be announced 1 March 2017 with winners revealed at a glamorous Gala Dinner taking place 7 April 2017.
This year’s WOBA charity is HENRY (Health Exercise and Nutrition for the Really Young). The charity protects young children from physical and emotional consequences of obesity and was winner of the 2016 WOBA Charity Award.
