What are the WOBAs?
The West Oxfordshire Business Awards (WOBAs) formed in 2011 to fly the flag for business and entrepreneurship in West Oxfordshire, a district that punches well above its weight for the local economy. The categories are reviewed each year to make them as inclusive as possible. See the Award categories.
Why are they here?
The Awards are here to bring the business community together and promote its achievements. The WOBAs’ aim is to celebrate and connect over 8,000 businesses in the area. It costs nothing to enter; businesses large and small have the opportunity to gain local recognition and shout about their work.
How do they happen?
The WOBAs are organised by a team of people who all have day jobs. Every year, they dedicate their time and skills to making the WOBAs a success. Meet the team.
The Awards are possible thanks to generous sponsors, one for each award category. The WOBAs are rare awards because there is no entry fee: the benefits of participation, networking opportunities, and accompanying publicity, all come for free. See the sponsors.
What’s new this year?
Welcoming supporters and sponsors
We’re very pleased to welcome some new faces to our cohort of sponsors. As ever, we are hugely grateful to all the sponsors, team members and supporters who donate their time, resources, and financial support, making the WOBAs a resounding success year after year. Also supporting the WOBAs are Oxford Witney Four Pillars Hotel, who will host the launch event. The Gala Dinner will once again be held in the fabulous environs of Heythrop Park.
West Oxfordshire Business of the Year Award
Once more, students of Abingdon & Witney College will compete to design the prestigious West Oxfordshire Business of the Year Award, which will be crafted in wood by Synolos in Witney. Check out last year’s Business of the Year Award here.
